In a space still fighting against stigma and striving for inclusivity, Doreen Sullivan, CEO and Creative Genius of My Bud Vase™, is breaking the mold – elegantly and unapologetically. A visionary in cannabis lifestyle branding, Doreen has transformed smoking accessories into works of art, offering women a way to consume confidently and stylishly.
As part of our Women’s Month campaign spotlighting powerful female voices in cannabis, Doreen opens up about overcoming industry challenges, building a globally recognized brand, and empowering women to take up space in a growing but still male-dominated industry.
Turning Skepticism Into Opportunity: Overcoming Barriers in Cannabis
Entering the cannabis space as a woman and a creative entrepreneur came with its fair share of doubt and raised eyebrows.
“People questioned whether there was a market for beautifully designed, discreet smoking accessories,” Doreen recalls. “But instead of seeing that as a roadblock, I saw it as an opportunity.”
Rather than conform to industry expectations, she leaned into her creativity and storytelling, using brand-building as her superpower. By proving that cannabis consumers crave beauty, individuality, and intentional design, Doreen carved out a powerful niche that previously didn’t exist.
Her secret? Persistence, innovation, and a bold belief in the power of the plant.
Building My Bud Vase™ Into a Global Brand
What started as an idea to elevate the cannabis experience has blossomed into a globally recognized lifestyle brand. My Bud Vase™ has reached consumers in Australia, Taiwan, the UK, Mexico, Nepal, and beyond, offering an elegant alternative for women who want their cannabis rituals to align with their personal style.
But the reach is only part of the story.
“What truly makes me proud is the impact we’ve had on destigmatizing cannabis,” says Doreen. “Every time someone tells me they feel more confident using our products, that they finally found something that fits their lifestyle, I know we’re making a difference.”
Through award-winning designs, brand collaborations, and a fierce commitment to advocacy, Doreen is helping women feel empowered, seen, and celebrated.
The Future is Female: How Women Are Shaping Cannabis
According to Doreen, women aren’t just joining the cannabis industry, they’re actively reshaping its foundation.
“Cannabis is still being built, and women are influencing its direction. From education and advocacy to product innovation and sustainability, our presence is shaping this industry in meaningful ways.”
Women bring essential values to the table: purpose-driven leadership, community-building, and a focus on holistic wellness. Doreen envisions a future where more female-led brands are funded, scaled, and celebrated globally.
More Than a Plant: The Movement Behind the Mission
Doreen’s message is clear:
“Cannabis is more than a plant – it’s a movement, and women are at the forefront.”
She believes in cannabis as a tool for creativity, healing, and empowerment, and sees her brand as a bridge between lifestyle and liberation. By elevating the design of smoking accessories, My Bud Vase™ also helps break down stigma and makes the cannabis space more approachable for new and existing consumers alike.
“The more we embrace our creative expression and share our stories, the more we normalize and elevate this space for future generations.”
