Happy Spring! They say where flowers bloom so does hope—I don’t know about you but every Spring I have high hopes to clean and freshen up my entire world.
The beauty all around has got me in the mood to beautify my own space. Yes, the time is come for Spring Cleaning…..of your glass pieces, that is!
Be honest, when was the last time you cleaned your glass vase bong? Don’t worry, your secret is safe with us! 😉
But an unclean bong can turn a pleasant toke into a nasty smoke. There are so many important reasons to keep up with cleaning your bong—including preserving the flavor of your flower.
After an overnight soak, just look at what came out of my bong bowls!!
If you’ve been putting it off, this is your sign to get into cleaning mode!
In case you aren’t sure how, I’ve outlined it for you below in just 7 easy steps.
And great news, the majority of this cleaning process only takes a few minutes (unless it needs an overnight soak).
So let’s clean that bong of yours, and your next sesh can be outside in the gorgeous weather! 🙌
Here’s what you’ll need to get started…
- Coarse Salt
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Warm Water (NOT HOT)
- Pipe cleaners or pipe brush (optional, but helpful!)
- A plastic bag
- A bowl, sink, or other basin
Once you’ve gathered all your supplies, you’re only a few steps away from a more pleasant smoke.
Note: these instructions are specifically for glass vase bongs—pieces like our Stardust, Jewel, or Aurora vases.
But don’t worry, the information will be useful for any kind of water pipe you need to spruce up. It also works for any glass pieces, including hand pipes and chillums.
Follow along with new in the video below, or read the step-by-step instructions if that's more your jam. 😉
7 Steps to a Sparkly Clean Glass Bong
Step 1: Remove the bowl from your vase bong and set it aside.
Step 2: Empty and discard the used water from the vase.
Step 3: Mix 3-4 tablespoons of coarse salt per half a cup of isopropyl alcohol. Adjust the measurements as needed, depending on the size of your My Bud Vase.
Step 4: Pour the salt and alcohol mixture into your vase. Block off the downstem and the mouthpiece with your hands or anything else you feel comfortable using.
Step 5: Shake the vase vigorously, in all directions, to loosen and dissolve the resin build up—and for bonus points, put on your favorite song & do a little dance as you shake!
Step 6: Rinse out your vase thoroughly with warm water.
Do not put your glass bong in the dishwasher and avoid using hot or boiling water—also do not go from HOT to COLD water on any glass product—it may result in cracking or breaking. ⚠️
Step 7: Place your vase’s bowl into a plastic bag. Soak the bowl in your alcohol/salt solution for several hours. Afterward, rinse the bowl with clean, warm water. If residue remains, soak the bowl overnight and/or use a pipe cleaner to remove any remaining particles.
A pipe brush, which has a brush on one end and a hook on the other, can also help you really deep clean those small, hard-to-reach crevices in your bong bowl. And we’ve got just the brush for you!
Look at the transformation with my Stardust vase....she's like new again! 😭
And that’s it. You’ve now got a nice, sparkly clean glass bong ready for your sesh. Perhaps you should choose a nice Sativa and keep on Spring Cleaning!!
Since this process is so easy, why not do this at least once a week or, depending on your frequency of use, after 10-12 nice big bowls does the trick.
One more thing…it’s also best to change your bong water more often, usually after every smoke or every other smoke.
Want to clean your pieces less often? (I get it, we’re all busy!!)
Check out Piece Water! This bong water alternative is specially formulated to prevent resin build-up in your bong….I highly recommend it!
That’s it! Time to enjoy your flower amongst the flowers & welcome in this gorgeous season! ✌️🌼
